Protecting Our Lakes & Waterways
 
Protecting our lakes and waterways from invasive species is one of the most important functions of the Our Lake Town POA. Education and awareness are important steps in this activity. Unfortunately, the Spiny Waterflea is already present in Our lake and there are no known methods for removing this pest.

If you find (or suspect) any of these other invasive species in our lakes, please notify Our Lake Town POA Lake Ecologists Jeff Smith and Jim Olsen. They will coordinate efforts with Our Town County Soil and Water Conservation District and state agencies to implement appropriate actions to eliminate or control the invasive species. If you are able to collect a sample of the item in question, place it in a refrigerator, in a plastic bag, with a damp paper towel. Including a photo of your specimen with your email would be helpful.
